Honda Endurance Racing’s Julien Da Costa will join the Honda Racing British Superbike team for the next round of the MCE British Superbike championship. Da Costa will be aboard the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade at Oulton Park standing in for Jason O’Halloran who is recovering from injuries he sustained at Thruxton.
The triple Endurance World Champion is contracted to be a reserve rider for the Honda BSB team and is no stranger to the British Superbike championship after competing with MSS Kawasaki in 2009. Da Costa was also a wildcard entry for four rounds last year with Honda.
The next round of the MCE British Superbike championship takes place at Oulton Park, Cheshire on 4-6 September.

"I’m really looking forward to coming back to BSB again; it’s just a shame that it’s in the circumstance it is with Jason being injured. Oulton Park is probably one of the most difficult circuits in the championship, so I know it won’t be easy but I will do my best for Jason and also the team. I think we can use the opportunity to try some different settings and continue the development work of the Fireblade."
Julien Da Costa
"We’re looking forward to welcoming Julien back into the team at Oulton Park; he joined us at the Snetterton test earlier in the year to help with our testing strategy when Dan was injured. He’s got a lot of experience and knows the Fireblade well from his time developing it last year, so it will be good to work with him again and get his ideas and thoughts. It is a shame in the circumstances that he joins us, with Jason recovering from his injuries, but Julien is contracted with the team for situations as this. We know he’ll do a good job for us and we look forward to having him in the team for the next round."
